Farrar is a Navy Drug and Alcohol Counselor, and a facilitator for CPPD's Drug and Alcohol Advisor (DAPA) Alcohol and Drug Abuse Managers/Supervisors (ADAMS) Personal Responsibility and Values Education and Training (PREVENT)and Bearings courses. Although he's one of the busiest instructors at CPPD, Farrar continues to pursue his advanced education goals, including qualifying as a Master Training Specialist (MTS) and becoming the command's assistant MTS coordinator. Broussard, CPPD's Senior Instructor of the Year, is a native of Houston where he joined the Navy in December 1994. In addition to his primary role as a master instructor in the Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) course, he supports delivery of the Division Officers Leadership and PREVENT courses. During his off-time he is pursuing his bachelor's degree in business information systems and volunteers at a local elementary school helping students improve their reading skills. "Education and training are extremely important to our Sailors here at CPPD," said Cmdr. Scott Howell, director, CPPD Region West.
